How unfortunate that Ms. Roberts has no idea what she is doing or talking about. With absolutely no animal facility experience and an ego of unimaginable size, Ms. Roberts has taken an ailing, underfunded, high-kill shelter and turned it into an utter torture chamber for already harried, frightened animals. By firing or driving out experienced, qualified staff and keeping yes-men and hiring new bewildered, easily manipulated staff, she has created a total hell that she advertises as a haven for homeless pets. Do not be fooled.

The KVHS used to be a reputable shelter that truly cared for it's inhabitants. It is now nothing but a stepping-stone for an executive director who cares more about FaceBook, text messages and planning her wedding than she does about the welfare of animals. Blame the Board of Directors that chose this under qualified, over-egoed woman - though a woman of true substance would have the grit and courage to admit she was in over her head and bow out gracefully...

I rember seeing the Inspectors at a Lunchtime concert at City Hall Plaza in Portland. I also saw them a few other times before they broke up. They were one of my faves. It is sad to hear of Craig's passing.

My first job right of college was working for Clare as a canvasser for Clean Water Action. There was much to admire about her. She was very smart, organized, honest, very easy to work with and an outstanding leader. As an attorney, there are skills that Clare taught me that I still use today. Clare would make a great City Counil member.

I had the priviledge of working with Clare for many years at Clean Water Action. I watched her start at the entry level, accept every challenge she was given and become an excellent leader for the organization. I especially remember her as being part of the team that opened up Clean Water Action's organizing progam in Texas in 1988. We had a rough go of it at first, being transplanted northerners and all. Clare refused to give up and paved the way for our initial success at building a strong and active membership base there. I am confident that she would make an excellent City Council member.
